Nobody else sounds like Michael Duncan, with his classical background, soft-core alt-rock leanings and strong, quirky voice. No conventional classification quite fits this guy, so he's had to invent a new one: sympho-alternative, for symphonic-alternative, his brand of alt-rock with classical music influences. Think Mahler meets Ben Folds meets Rickie Lee Jones, with a little Brahms and Counting Crows thrown in the mix.
Michael has written and performed music for TV, and is a published songwriter. His early, classical background led to recital-hall performances of many of his piano works, long before he wrote songs. His live show is unique- he plays multiple instruments, including piano, sax and guitar, along with recorded tracks, while also singing lead vocals; the effect is more like a full band than a solo singer/songwriter.
